TARA Sustainable Health Clinic : August

12-2pm PDT Your Time Zone Here

Margaret Mead said that the mark of civilization is when we offer compassionate care to someone in health distress. As an anthropologist she used the discovery of a healed femur bone to illustrate this. Prior to the mended structure someone with a broken femur would be left to die. Once there was evidence of compassionate care a line was crossed to mark the evolution of humanity.

Rebecca Solnit seconds this understanding of human civilization. In A Paradise Built in Hell  she documents how many, if not at all times in disasters there is a groundswell of humanitarianism. She says that  “every corner of suffering and lack is scoured by generosity” by average people who often have to work around the authorities who try too hard to control the circumstances, overlooking the natural willingness to help that is often structured and intelligent.

Now is a good time to remember that compassionate care is natural to civilization. We have the capacity to be of real service to one another. In these clinics Dr. Stephanie Mines puts effective, practical tools into our hands so that when compassion wants to pour forth to those in need we can ground it in clinically tested and dependable interventions. This is the meaning of Sustainable Health. It is a choreography for the urge to help that is in our muscle memory.

These clinics are based on the principles of healing in community as developed by Stephanie Mines. This means that the structure involves learning specific resources from the TARA Approach medicine bag. We then move into in-depth responses to the specific needs of those attending. The purpose is to show sustainable health in action.

Everyone is invited to participate regardless of background. Newcomers to sustainable health protocols will become aware of the power healing in their hands, hearts and minds. Everyone will learn simple and reliable ways to address health concerns at every level of human experience. Skilled professionals will add to their knowledge of healing in community and learn valuable applications. TARA practitioners will benefit from seeing how to transmit resources online.

$85 per clinic. Pay less if necessary; pay more if you can. Use the autofill function in the registration form to determine your contribution. Zoom links and information for the clinic will be emailed to you shortly before the clinic.
